Turned items made by Richard.
Richard takes wood from all sorts of sources, but always from places where the tree, logs or the timber is no longer required, and turns it to reveal its natural beauty as something functional, to look at and touch.

Giving wood a second life
The oak 'Beam bowl' (left), made from a section of a belfry oak from Ashover Church in Derbyshire. An original beam from the churches construction over 600 years ago. One can only guess the actual age of the timber. The timbers had to be removed for safety, and I was lucky enough to get a piece.
Below, an long applewood platter, made from a branch of an tree from a family run Worcestershire orchard which used to supply Bulmers Cider.
